If you’re considering Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT), you’ve probably been researching the symptoms of Low Testosterone (Low-T), supplements and foods that can help boost testosterone, medical treatment for Low-T, the risks and side effects of TRT, the cost, and other frequently asked questions. You are not alone.

For over a decade, our medical clinic has specialized in men’s health, helping men that are suffering from Low-T optimize their hormone levels with TRT. If you’re considering becoming a patient at Body RX Miami, or Body RX Coral Gables, you’ll find why we have among the best patient satisfaction rates among South Florida TRT clinics.

While the internet is loaded with information about optimizing testosterone levels, we at Body RX decided to create a complete guide of What to Expect as a New TRT Patient at our Miami, FL medical wellness clinics.

Not sure if you need TRT?

People suffering from low-testosterone suffer a great deal in their personal lives, often dealing with a combination of depression, fatigue, bad mood, higher visceral body fat, low self-esteem and a multitude of other symptoms that affect their overall quality of life. Low-T is a real medical condition which if left undiagnosed and untreated may lead to compounding health issues and an early death. If you’re suffering from these symptoms, you might have low-t and not know it, therefore a visit to a Testosterone Replacement Clinic for a Low-T test may be recommended.

To some prospective patients that have spent time browsing the internet for information, the process of TRT may seem intimidating, too complicated, not worth it, or too expensive. We hope this guide can serve as a trustworthy source of information you can rely on or share with your friends that are skeptical about TRT for Men.

Step 1: Initial Consultation

For many patients that find us online or call our office, the journey begins with an initial appointment for an in-person consultation with one of our Patient Care Advocates. During the initial consultation, you’ll get answers to your most important questions like:

  • How much does TRT cost?
  • What does a TRT protocol consist of?
  • How long is the protocol for?
  • Why is TRT important for someone with Low-T symptoms?
  • What’s the next step in the process?

During the initial in-person visit, our knowledgeable Patient Care Advocates will help you also identify other wellness treatments and advanced testing you may be needing.

Remote Consultations for Out-of-state or International Patients

Want to get the top TRT treatment, advice, and care in Miami but are unable to travel for an in-person visit?

Whether you’re in Denver, Colorado, Bogota, Colombia, or San Juan, Puerto Rico, we can provide you with a convenient initial consultation via telephone, Skype, Facetime, Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger, or other voice/video platforms.

We can also provide the entire treatment, monitoring, and expertise remotely for your convenience (Limitations apply, please contact us for more information).

Step 2: Complete Male Hormonal Blood Panel

In order to get a precise diagnosis and help you develop the best treatment plan for your needs, we require our TRT patients to undergo a complete male hormonal blood panel.

We recommend our patients visit our Coral Gables or Kendall locations in South Florida in order to have the blood test properly done with our staff.

This complete testing includes all of the most important biological markers which can help provide a well-defined picture of your current testosterone levels, as well as the following:

  • Cortisol Total levels
  • Vitamin D
  • DHEA
  • Testosterone Free and Total
  • CBC
  • Prolactin
  • Free T-4
  • TSH
  • Free T-3
  • LH
  • FSH
  • Estradiol
  • Complete Metabolic Panel
  • Lipid Panel
  • IGF-1

Once you visit one of our locations for a blood test, we’ll schedule a doctor visit about a week later so our Dr. George Herrera, M.D. OB/GYN, can go over the test results with you.

Step 3: Doctor Visit

Once you’ve met with our Patient Care Advocates and have your complete hormonal blood panel, you’ll make an appointment to see our hormone specialist, Dr. George Herrera, M.D., Ob/Gyn. During the appointment, Dr. Herrera will provide a thorough explanation of your results, where you need improvement, and the best doctor-recommmended protocol.

Did You Know?

Not every doctor is the same! It’s possible and may even be typical for a Primary Care Physician to ignore signs of Low-Testosterone and even disagree about the blood levels which point to Low-T. Our Dr. George Herrera, M.D. is an Ob/Gyn and is a specialist in hormonal-level medicine, along with having year of specialized training and certification by the leading anti-aging certifying organization, A4M.

Step 4: Prescription and Treatment

Depending on the treatment protocol assigned by the doctor, your prescriptions may vary. Many patients receive a combination of prescription medications, supplements, and lifestyle recommendations designed to optimize healthy testosterone levels, promote your natural production of testoterone, and maintain the most optimized health for the male body.

Step 5: Maintenance

As part of the TRT program, we understand your body may change and your needs may change from time to time. We want you to not only look the best but also feel completely transformed, and stay feeling amazing for the long haul.

That’s why we recommend a series of daily supplements, doctor monitoring, and recommended lifestyle changes as part of the successful complete TRT program.

If you already started a TRT program and are experiencing symptoms of fatigue, low libido, or other symptoms similar to Low-T, read our blog post on why you may still be feeling tired after starting TRT.

Supplements

Supplements like Vitamin D, Co-Q 10 and other supplements will help your body get the most important fuel it needs to work in conjunction with your TRT program, resulting in your body feeling younger, more energized, more focus, improved skin tone and mood, as well as improvements to your libido.
Our nursing staff will provide you with a month’s supply of supplements along with dosage instructions.

Doctor Monitoring

Here at Body RX, our nursing staff and patient care advocates carefully monitor each TRT patient throughout the month, on a weekly basis. We’ll go over your lifestyle habits, your workout habits, your diet and nutrition progress, and any changes to your day-to-day health.

We also have our patients get a complete blood panel every four months, together with a doctor consultation to review their progress.

Ready to start?

If you’re ready to start on your journey to living an amazing life based on wellness optimization for men, contact us today to schedule your initial appointment at any one of our two South Florida locations.
